A South Wales based solicitors is celebrating after scooping two prestigious awards at a high-profile business event in London.
HardingEvans was awarded Highly Commended in the ‘Management Team of the Year’ and the ‘Change Management’ categories at the National Management and Leadership (NML) Awards in recognition of the innovative way that the company’s management team tackled the major challenges facing the business in the wake of the Legal Services Act.
The Awards, in Association with the Chartered Management Institute, acknowledge excellence across a wide range of business sectors which makes this award all the more significant for HardingEvans.
HardingEvans beat stiff competition from a number of well-respected organisations such as British Transport Police and Royal Holloway, University of London, ultimately just missing out on gold in the two categories.
CMI’s Chief Executive, Ann Francke, said: “While the UK economy is showing signs of growth, there’s still a long way to go. The National Management and Leadership Awards highlight the many managers who are excelling just when they’re needed most and HardingEvans shows that great management and leadership makes all the difference. The team can be very proud to have been highly commended by the judges. Many congratulations.”
Practice Director, Joy Phillips said: “Even to be shortlisted against such strong competition was a real honour but to be Highly Commended is a significant achievement for us and we’re very proud of the work that has been done to get us into this position.
“Every law firm in the country faced the same challenges we did with the Legal Services Act but we believe that our pro-active approach and the calibre and experience of our management team enabled us to thrive.
“These awards are testament to the encompassing changes we have made as an organisation in the last 18 months and the cohesive strategy we put in place to deliver significant business benefits.”
Now in its fourth year, the annual NML awards recognise excellence and outstanding performance in the field of management and leadership. The winners were announced at the NML Awards Ceremony at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London.
CMI, the only chartered professional body dedicated to improving standards of management and leadership, runs the CMI National Management & Leadership Awards each year to recognise and celebrate the best managers and management across the country.
