Cardiff-based communications agency, Cake Communications, scooped four prestigious awards at the 2013 Wales Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards, taking place at the Hilton Hotel, Cardiff, on Friday evening.
The agency picked up one gold and two silver awards for their ‘A Woman’s Place?’ campaign for women’s economic development charity, Chwarae Teg, which campaigned for gender equality in the Welsh workplace. They were also awarded silver in the ‘Outstanding Small Consultancy’ category.
The judging process for the PRide Awards is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners. This year saw a large number of the region’s leading public relations practitioners attend the annual awards ceremony, hosted by Matt Johnson of ITV’s This Morning.
The judges said: “Cake’s campaign was beautifully presented, clear and concise, with highly professional objective setting and strategy, followed through with arange of targeted, imaginative and inclusive tactics, including infographics and an interactive quiz. It shows that real results in the public sphere CAN be achieved on a modest budget.”
Sara Robinson, Managing Director of Cake Communications, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for our hard work over the past year. We strive to achieve the best for our clients and are very proud of our ‘A Woman’s Place?’ campaign, which exceeded targets and gained tangible results for Chwarae Teg.
“To be awarded four awards at the prestigious PRide awards is a phenomenal achievement and it is a real testament to our talented and driven team who always deliver for our clients.”
CIPR President Sue Wolstenholme FCIPR, commented: “The Welsh CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the very best public relations campaigns, teams and individuals from across the region. The exceptional quality of entries received this year is a real testament to the thriving industry which exists here in Wales. The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK regions and nations and to win an award is a great achievement.”
