A Bristol-based property management business has made the switch to a local energy supplier in a bid to turn its properties green.
BNS Management Services has signed a deal with Ecotricity, a green electricity supplier based in Stroud. The move, says BNS director Andrew Simmonds, marks a change in the way the 185 apartment blocks it manages in the region will be powered.
He said: “We are constantly striving to find the very best local suppliers and packages for our customers and our deal with Ecotricity is the latest way in which we have been tirelessly working behind the scenes to offer the best services to our blocks.
“Ecotricity will not only save our customers money, it also offers 100% green electricity as well as an ethical and transparent pricing policy, which will give residents and landlords peace of mind and a better chance of budgeting.
“We manage 185 properties across the South West and we like the fact that Ecotricity are another local company, much like the majority of our contractors.
“Previously our blocks have all been serviced by different energy suppliers but by next year, they will all be on the same Ecotricity plan, making it much easier for us to manage with no long term contracts. The fact that the energy is green as well is another added bonus.”
BNS Management Services is based in Downend and offers different levels of service for both large and small properties. The bespoke service can be tailored to suit the varied buildings, management companies and leaseholders involved. Its rapid response times and reliability has established its reputation as one of the region’s leading property management agents.
Not-for-dividend organisation Ecotricity was founded in 1995 as the world’s first green energy company with a mission to change the way electricity is made and used in Britain. Now powering over 75,000 homes and businesses from its growing fleet of Wind and Sun parks, Ecotricity invests more per customer in building new sources of green electricity than any other energy company in Britain.
Chris Organ, Ecotricity Business Sales Account Manager, said: “We are delighted to have BNS on board and look forward to showing them and their customers the benefits of using green energy.
“Electricity is the biggest single source of carbon emissions in Britain. We operate a unique model which uses our customers’ energy bills to fund the building of new green energy sources, harnessing the wind, the sun and the sea.
“We are dedicated to the fight against climate change and we’re glad BNS is helping the cause.”
