A long established, yet ambitious, Birmingham company is looking forward to a picture perfect future after expanding into new markets.
Lion Picture Framing Supplies Limited is based in Birmingham with a branch warehouse near Heathrow. It supplies professional picture framers throughout the UK and Ireland, and increasingly in the EU, Eastern Europe, the Gulf and further afield.
Lion’s steady growth means that it now employs over 50 staff and, wherever possible, it sources its products within the UK, and most of its support companies are Midlands based.
That includes Coleshill-based IT company ACUTEC, which has been called in to upgrade the company servers in anticipation of further growth.
Seb Krzeminski, Systems Administrator for Lion, said: “We are a traditional family owned company that prides itself on providing our many customers with the highest quality products and the best possible service and support.
“Our strongest markets have always been the UK and Ireland. In recent years, our sales to customers in EU, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and further afield have been growing steadily and continue to do so.
“We do uphold traditional values but have to be forward thinking too. That is why we constantly seek to develop new markets. To support that, we constantly invest in our IT resources.
“We have recently worked with our IT providers, ACUTEC, to upgrade our servers and are moving to more efficient and greener virtualised servers.
“Our extensive transactional website sits within our operating system and it is becoming increasingly important as more and more customers are choosing to place their orders on our site.
“ACUTEC, like ourselves, are a very proactive company and they are always ready to give us advice on the latest technology that can support our growth.
“The server upgrade went very smoothly and it was a testament to the ACUTEC team that there was no disruption to the system, allowing us to continue to focus on our day-to-day business.”
Neil Porter, of ACUTEC, said: “We are delighted to support Lion and this latest upgrade will be extremely beneficial for the company as they move forward.”
