A record forty plus cars owned by property professionals from across the region entered the fourth Jones Lang LaSalle Charitable Classic and Sports Car Reliability Run, raising money for The Royal British Legion.
The annual event which began in Birmingham was supported by key figures from the property world. Drivers from the East Midlands included Roger Bennet from E.ON and Paul Marshall from Marshalls Transport, pictured, who drove in a 1960 MGA.
The event this year took an added twist of giving drivers the opportunity of undertaking laps of Castle Combe Racing Circuit, kindly sponsored by EOS Interiors.
James Keeton from the Nottingham offices of Jones Lang LaSalle said: “Last year we raised approximately £2,500 and this year we are already on target to raise circa £4,000 due to the number of people taking part. Clearly word has spread about the event and perhaps the property industry is feeling in a more optimistic mood as the market looks to be turning a corner. ”
Claire Rowcliff, regional fundraising manager (Midlands) of The Royal British Legion added: “We are delighted for the continued support from Jones Lang LaSalle. The Royal British Legion spends around £200,000 a day supporting our servicemen and women and their families. The money raised from this event is a vital contribution towards ensuring our work can go on as it has done for the last 90 years.”
