A leading property agent, GVA, has been appointed to market the site of the former MPG Print Group in Bodmin, bringing hopes that the factory can be given a new lease of life.
GVA’s national agency team has been appointed by MPG Printgroup’s administrators, S Girling and D Gilbert, to find a buyer for the 3.27 acre site, which is situated to the south-east of the town.
Located fronting Lostwithiel Road, adjacent to the military museum, the former factory complex was constructed in the 1960s, and extended with a new warehouse in 2002. The property includes a grade II listed building dating back to the 1890s, formerly used as a military barracks, and ideal for conversion to alternative uses.
The existing buildings extend to 89,641 sq ft on the site, which could be re-used or indeed subdivided.
Vicci Morris from GVA’s office in Bristol says, “We believe that this site has great potential for a growing local business or alternatively redevelopment. A forward thinking developer, with the necessary planning approvals, could bring renewed life to the site with perhaps a mix of both commercial and residential development given the attractive location. All ideas are welcome at this stage.”
“Whilst the economy and consequent demand for commercial premises remains difficult, now is a great time for growth businesses to acquire really competitive deals on standing stock.”
