Canotec, the digital copiers technology specialist based in Hampshire, hosted its Work Smarter forum at the RNLI headquarters in Poole, Dorset, followed by a harbour cruise.
The day-long event, with break-out sessions attended by nearly 70 businessmen and women, focused on how companies can go about getting their IT and document processes ship-shape. Examples were given of how firms have slashed print-related costs and reduced paper waste by up to half by embracing digital workflows. A recruitment agency is £25,000 a year better off after embracing software which does away with time-consuming and costly manual data entry work. Meanwhile, a law firm with 650 staff and six offices has seen paper usage halved by just over 700,000 sheets of paper a month, with associated savings of £100,000 annually.
