The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the latest fall in unemployment across the city and the county.
Louise Bennett, chief executive of the Chamber, said: “This is yet further positive news for the region, with figures dropping to their lowest levels since the end of 2008.
“Many of our members feel we are starting to turn the corner and that is being reflected in surveys, in the latest round of GDP figures and in these numbers on jobs.
“Of course, after the deep recession, nobody is going to become complacent and we all know that the rebalancing of the economy is going to take more time but the process is certainly underway.
“Our annual conference on October 4, will look at the economy today with key speakers and how we build on the early signs of a recovery.
“It’s vital that we use major events such as the Chamber conference to learn from the past and look ahead, as region, to the future and the opportunities and challenges it will present.”
