Exporting and access to finance will be the two hot topics discussed at a major event designed to support the region’s manufacturers and engineers.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has organised its next manufacturing and engineering network event on Wednesday, September 11, at the IIPSI building at the University of Warwick.
The Chamber, as lead partner, has brought together the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the EEF to offer a very broad cross section of advice and support to the network.
All manufacturing and engineering firms from across Coventry and Warwickshire are welcome to attend and will be given an insight into exporting, including details of grants and support available.
That includes the new £3,000 of export vouchers available for SMEs.
The presentation on access to finance will also touch on exporting but will also include advice on other sources of funding available.
Angela Tellyn, of the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Our manufacturing and engineering network is growing stronger and stronger.
“The importance of this sector to our economy cannot be overstated and that is why we thought it was so important to bring together organisations in the region who can offer such strong support and have a wealth of expertise in this field.
“Exporting is going to play a huge part in building a sustained period of economic growth and our manufacturers and engineers have a great opportunity to expand and find new markets.
“The UK – and our region particularly – is highly respected overseas and our products are considered to be of an extremely high quality.
“That is something we must continue to take full advantage of as a region.”
She added: “Access to finance remains an issue for firms across Coventry and Warwickshire but there are solutions out there for companies, which may not be traditional methods of accessing funding, but can help businesses to grow.”
