Expanding kitchen furniture company opens new distribution hub at Mill Place, Gloucester

Property consultants Alder King have let one of the largest available industrial/ warehouse buildings in Gloucestershire to Direct Online Services Ltd (DOS Ltd), a rapidly expanding kitchen furniture business which now employs over 100 people and recently launched a sister company in the Czech Republic.

Unit A Mill Place provides 75,667 sq ft of warehouse, storage and office accommodation on the A430 Bristol Road, 1.5 miles from Gloucester city centre. It was one of only a handful of industrial properties of this size recently on the market.

DOS Ltd, the solid wood specialists behind well-known kitchen furniture brands including Worktop Express®, Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, and deTerra Kitchens, has taken the unit as its new distribution hub.

David Aubrey of Robert Hitchins Limited commented: “We are pleased to welcome Direct Online Services Ltd to Mill Place. The site’s convenient location within easy reach of Gloucester city centre and Junction 12 of the M5 makes Mill Place an ideal location for a variety of businesses.”

Rob Holley of Alder King, which acted on behalf of Robert Hitchins, said: “There is an imbalance between the level of demand and the availability of large industrial space across the region. This letting leaves the level of supply even more depleted.

“The encouraging news is that Gloucestershire has a good supply of sites capable of delivering high quality buildings on a design and build basis and we are now seeing developers securing pre-lets and pre-sales at sites, including another Robert Hitchins site at Stonehouse Park.”

DOS Ltd is headquartered at Brearley Court on Waterwells Business Park in Gloucester and last year opened a flagship Gloucestershire showroom. Alder King represented Robert Hitchins; Direct Online Services Ltd was unrepresented.
