A Warwickshire wealth management firm has marked its move to directly authorised status with the recruitment of a duo of financial services heavy hitters.
Jane Goodall and Tracey Whatmore have joined Magna Wealth Management in Temple Grafton, near Alcester, as consultants in the same month that the firm was notified by the Financial Conduct Authority that it was now directly authorised.
Magna Wealth Management, which trades as Expat Pensions Investments & Savings outside of the UK, provides financial advice to UK residents and expats living in the EU and across the globe.
Managing director Angela South explained: “Magna Wealth Management has previously traded as part of a network, but we felt that the business had now grown to the extent that applying for direct authorisation by the Financial Conduct Authority was warranted.
“This was achieved in under three months – far faster than we had anticipated – which speaks volumes for the quality of our systems, standards and the hard work put in by the Magna team.”
Ms South founded the business in late 2007 and the original intention was to help expats living abroad manage their finances and make the most of their money, but as she explains the UK side of the business has grown rapidly over the past few years as well.
“Our success in serving our clients in Spain, France and across the world, has led to referrals from those clients to their relatives and friends in the UK.
“So now we are well positioned to help clients both at home and abroad. Many clients contact us because they are considering making the move abroad when they retire and they want to know what their options are.
“Our central theme, whether advising clients in the UK or the four corners of the globe, is to help you make the most of your money, and enjoy a comfortable retirement.
“With many people both approaching and in retirement, and with inflation eroding their savings, there is considerable demand for a expert assistance in this area.”
Ms South’s career included gaining experience with bluechip companies including Scottish Amicable, Prudential and Scottish Widows.
Jane Goodall was most recently Business Development Director of a Guernsey-based international financial services group and prior to that spent the previous 20 years working for the Montpelier Group, both as a director of one of the tax businesses and as pensions specialist within the financial services division.
Tracey Whatmore is an experienced paraplanner who has worked with Jane Goodall for a number of years. She was formerly with Montpelier Group and prior to that IFA firm Marsh & McLennan in Birmingham.
Ms South said: “The arrival of Jane and Tracey is evidence that we are gearing up for further growth and further enhances the experience available on the Magna team.”
