A youngster has beaten fierce competition to land a government approved apprenticeship with one of Coventry’s leading legal firms.
Ryan Drayton, 16, from Leamington is the first employee to be hired by the newly-formed Band Hatton Button (incorporating Varley Hibbs).
The former Trinity School pupil has joined the team as an IT assistant, helping out with IT projects, trouble-shooting and support.
Ryan obtained the apprenticeship through Henley College and was one of 25 applicants to apply for the position.
He said: “It is a privilege and an honour to have been selected to work for such a forward thinking legal firm.
“It’s an exciting time to gain experience with the firm as it grows. I am looking forward to starting my college course and will work hard to improve and develop my IT skills.”
Band Hatton Button which is located on Warwick Road now has 15 partners and employs around 70 people.
Natalie Ormerod, human resources manager at Band Hatton Button, said: “We are delighted that Ryan has joined our team as a young apprentice and we are confident that he will be able to develop key skills within his professional environment.
“We are committed to helping develop the careers of young people.”
