Leading regional developer Devonshire Homes is nearing completion on the construction of a new town centre retail scheme which forms part of the new mixed use development Ginkgo Court situated on the former site of the Tiverton and District Hospital.
The scheme has already proved popular, with a pre let agreed with global pizza delivery company Domino’s Pizza which will open its doors to the public later this year.
Steve Russell, Land and Planning Director for Devonshire Homes, stated: “Domino’s decision to invest in Tiverton will contribute positively towards the town’s overall regeneration plans. It is a significant display of confidence in the economic future of the town that will assist in attracting other major retail investment to the area as well as contribute new jobs.”
A second unit that shares the same prominent location comprises approximately 1,345 sq ft (125 sq m) of new contemporary retail space designed to suit a range of occupiers and uses. The unit has planning consent for A1 use but other uses will be considered (STP) and is available on a new lease or alternatively the long leasehold interest can be purchased.
Commercial property agent Lee Southan of Alder King commented: “This is an exciting new development which will provide a new retail offer for Tiverton. The site is very prominent and will offer small and medium sized businesses a chance to occupy a town centre location where before they may not have been able to. We are confident this unit won’t be around for long with Domino’s occupying the premises next door.”
