Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership today announces the date of its Annual Conference.
Taking place on Thursday 10 October at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways Stadium, the theme for this year’s event will be ‘Driving Worcestershire Forward’ (#drivingworcs). The conference will be facilitated by TV presenter and champion rally driver, Penny Mallory and will run from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.
Gary Woodman, Executive Director at the LEP, says: “We are currently finalising our conference timetable and speakers, but our aim is to build on the success of last year’s event and provide an update on our achievements over the past year. We also want to showcase some of the innovative work going on in the county and let delegates know about our plans for the forthcoming year – particularly with regard to ‘single pot’ and European funding.
He continues: “We want to put delegates in the ‘driving seat’ by encouraging them to join in with the interactive debates and listening to what they have to say. We’re hoping to enlist their support in promoting Worcestershire to their networks as a great place to invest, work and live.”
Specialist event management company, Opening Doors and Venues, has been appointed to organise the event on behalf of the LEP. Rose Padmore, Owner/Manager of the company, says: “I am looking forward to working hard with the Worcestershire LEP team to develop a valuable conference for Worcestershire businesses.”
Worcestershire LEP Chair, Peter Pawsey, added “Last year the conference attracted 300 delegates, mainly from businesses across the county. The target this year is to encourage even greater involvement so that we can better inform everyone of the role and achievements of the LEP and its partners to date. We are keen to showcase the wide range of support and opportunity available to Worcestershire businesses and want to engage and encourage them to become active ambassadors for the county.”
Booking for the conference will open in September. To register your interest, please email: [email protected].
