Business Angel Sharanne Basham-Pyke has joined the management team of woosabi in the role of Director.
Ms Basham-Pyke has taken the step from Business Transformation Director at BT Global Services to join woosabi, a Welsh company that has recently launched a ‘software as a service’ business management tool built for start-ups and small businesses.
Explaining her move from the corporate world, Ms Basham-Pyke said, “Many women, especially of my age, look back at their successful leadership and management careers and decide that the next step into the corporate Boardroom is not for them. So, what to do next? After 30 years at this level, I’ve decided to have a portfolio career, investing my time in small businesses that want to grow. I was introduced to the team at woosabi at a local networking event and immediately recognised the potential for woosabi and how my skills and experience can add value.”
Established by Tony O’Sullivan, woosabi is an online product that provides start-ups and small businesses with a comprehensive package of management tools that includes invoices, expenses, contact management, to-do lists and other essential functions.
Launched earlier this month, the new package has already received interest from organisations involved with providing business support for start-ups in Wales, Economic Development departments in local councils and private companies who want to become resellers. Ms Basham-Pyke has joined the woosabi team to drive take-up in the UK market and to prepare woosabi for the global market.
“We are delighted to welcome Sharanne to our team,” said Tony O’Sullivan. “Sharanne is a very successful businesswoman with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Utilising her extensive network and her strong management and leadership style to implement internal structures, Sharanne’s positive impact is already ensuring we achieve our objectives.”
