Barburrito, the north-west based Mexican chain have secured their first premises in the East Midlands at 22 King Street, Nottingham. This is their ninth restaurant and forms part of an expansion plan to secure an additional ten outlets over the next two years.
Paul Kilpatrick of Barburrito commented:
“We have been looking at Nottingham for some time and are delighted to have secured our new premises on King Street. We are drawn to the location due to its proximity to both the Cornerhouse and the Victoria Shopping Centre and quality adjacencies such as Pizza Express, Zizzi, Loch Fyne, amongst others.
I hope that this is the first of many Barburrito outlets throughout the city over the forthcoming years”.
Barburrito have taken a new ten year lease of 2,039 ft² subject to a rent review at year five, at a commencing rent of £50,000 per annum rising to £55,000 in year five.
Alan Pearson of FHP commented:
“When the property became vacant following the administration of Jacobs, it was clear to see that the pitch had changed since the time of its last letting and lent itself to a restaurant user. We advised Scottish Widows to submit a change of use application to A3 which was successfully granted. I targeted Barburrito as I believed they would work well in this location and complement the existing operators. I am very pleased to have secured their first outlet within the East Midlands and I look forward to seeing many more open in the city.”
