The Office Agents Society, made up of representatives from Bristol’s leading surveying practices, has released the office take up figures for Bristol for the first half of 2013.
The figures show take up 289,486 sq ft in the city centre some 100,000 sq ft up on take up at the same point last year.
Out of town, first half take up figures are slightly down by circa 22,000 sq ft but it is expected that total overall take up for 2013 will be ahead of last years figures of 660,598 sq ft, which is approximately 100,000 sq ft below the 5 year average.
Paul Williams, director of Bruton Knowles commented: “We are seeing signs of recovery and take up figures are improving which confirms that the market is improving.”
Phil Morton, director of CBRE added: “Bristol is a well placed for recovery and is also in the top five cities in the UK forecasted for economic growth over the coming years.”
