Leading South Wales law firm HardingEvans has appointed a new Head of Childcare to build on the department’s excellent reputation in the area and steer the company through the recent changes to Legal Aid.
Vicky Walker, originally from Cardiff, a specialist in family law with almost 20 years’ experience in the field, is a member of the Law Society Children’s Panel and a Resolution accredited specialist in domestic abuse and private law children matters.
Ms Walker said: “I was drawn to join HardingEvans by the company’s established reputation for family law and their strong management team which is clearly keen to make sure that the firm continues to thrive.
“The changes to Legal Aid earlier this year have had a definite impact on my sector and as part of my new role I will aim to make them work to our advantage while ensuring that we give the highest possible quality of service to our clients.”
HardingEvans’ Childcare Department provides high quality legal advice and representation for anyone involved in disputes concerning children, whether this includes a social services involvement or a dispute amongst family members.
Partner and Head of Family, Ceri Price, said: “To have our Childcare Department headed up by someone of Vicky’s experience and calibre is a real coup for HardingEvans and we are extremely pleased to have her as an integral part of our team.
“When we first heard about the Legal Aid changes we knew that we needed a strong leader in the department and we believe that Vicky fits this role perfectly.”
HardingEvans is one of South Wales’ most progressive law firms, employing 120 staff in Newport and offering a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals.
