Former England rugby international Rory Underwood is heading to Leicester Tigers this week, for a fundraising event in aid of the educational charity for young people, The Outward Bound Trust.
He is guest speaker at The Midlands Family Business Awards’ summer fundraiser on Thursday 18th July.
“The Dinner will be a rare opportunity to hear Rory Underwood speak of his experience of working in a team alongside his younger brother Tony,” explains Charlotte Perkins, MD of The Wilson Organisation which organises the Awards and the event.
“In 1992 he switched from the right to the left wing to accommodate his brother in the team and they were the first brothers to represent England at the same time since 1937.
“This will be a fun evening, in which Rory will share with us his insights in the areas of effective communication and high performance leadership to benefit individuals, teams and organisations to inspire performance – particularly in family businesses. At the same time, the event aims to raise funds for the Awards chosen charity for 2013, The Outward Bound Trust, which is an educational charity dedicated to unlocking the potential in young people through learning and adventure in the wild.”
Tickets for the evening are priced at £60 per person including VAT to include a drinks reception, dinner and table wine, with all proceeds going to the charity. For more information or to make a booking, contact Ped Briggs, The Wilson Organisation, Tel: 0115 942 7506, email: [email protected].
The Midlands Family Business Awards are the regions only truly independent initiative for family businesses. The Awards are not-for-profit and since their launch have raised more than £15,000 for Midlands-based charities supporting young enterprise and young people.
Entries are free-of-charge, and can be made until midnight on Tuesday 16th July 2013.
