Leading food distributor 3663 has appointed national property and construction consultancy Wakemans as employer’s agent, cost consultant and CDM coordinator on £4 m distribution depot refurbishment project.
The 100,000 sq. ft. scheme in Wakefield comprises overhauling and converting a distribution building into a chilled food distribution centre. The contract has been let to main contractor Vinci and work has now commenced on site.
Wakemans worked on the development of 3663’s first new depot in Langley Mill near Nottingham, which opened in 2003 and since then has completed other projects Edinburgh, Manchester, Nottingham, Stowmarket, Gateshead, Plymouth, Stirling and Cannock.
“3663’s investment in new depots and the expansion of its existing facilities will enable the company to maximise its logistics resources and sustain business growth whilst continuing to improve the customer experience,” says Wakemans director Dean Watson.
3663 is one of the UK’s leading foodservice companies delivering quality ingredients, fresh, frozen and ambient foods lines, ViVAS drinks, as well as kitchen chemicals, disposables and catering equipment to the catering industry.
