Three Intellectual Property (IP) specialists have joined the international patent and Trade Mark firm Swindell & Pearson following sustained growth in instructions at the practice.
Aaron Wood and Paul Chapman both join as Associates and Paul Hudson as Patent Advisor at the Derby-headquartered firm.
A respected Trade Mark expert, Aaron Wood has over twelve years’ experience in IP with London-based firms and international practices, and joins Swindell & Pearson from Briffa where he was Head of Trade Marks and Brand Protection. With a specialism in brand protection, exploitation and enforcement, he has worked extensively on internationally recognised brands in fashion, entertainment, food and drink. He is a Registered Trade Mark Attorney, European Trade Mark Attorney and Council Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (ITMA).
Patent specialist Paul Chapman will initially operate from Swindell & Pearson’s Derby office, whilst combining a lead role in developing the firm’s business across South Yorkshire from its Sheffield office. He has more than fourteen years’ experience in patents relating to a variety of technologies in the mechanical and electromechanical fields and high tech markets. He has worked extensively with SMEs on the development of IP rights globally with additional roles including eleven years with a major electronic components manufacturer as Production and Development Engineer, manufacturing imaging devices for TV cameras.
With key responsibilities for advising clients on patents in the electronics and communications sector, Paul Hudson joins Swindell & Pearson following roles with Siemens, and Bern University of Applied Science and HMT Microelectronic AG, both in Switzerland. With an Engineering M.Eng and BA (Hons) degree from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge University, he takes his first step towards becoming a Patent Attorney at Swindell & Pearson, with a view to harnessing his problem solving and knowledge across engineering.
