Journalist and business communications specialist Gareth Lewis has joined Southampton’s number one integrated marketing communications agency.
The former business editor of the Southern Daily Echo is now heading up the communications team at multi-award-winning agency Carswell Gould, which specialises in digital marketing, creative, web design and PR.
Gareth has handled communications for some of the south’s best-known brands, including Associated British Ports, Blake Lapthorn, The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, The Southern Co-Operative and Warings.
He has also project-managed extensive public consultation exercises for one of the UK’s biggest hotel brands as well as high profile housing schemes, supermarket developments and the relocation of a football ground.
Gareth follows in the footsteps of Stewart Dunn, the former managing director of Southern Daily Echo publisher Newsquest Southern, who is now managing director at Carswell Gould.
Stewart said: “We are proud to have Gareth join our already strong team, which is packed with outstanding talent.
“His appointment is just the latest in our strategy of recruiting the best people in their field, giving them the best resources available and the freedom to deliver inspirational creative results.
“We have the best PR and digital offer bar none, brilliant creative ability and a web design team that is operating at the bleeding edge. It’s a unique offer and a compelling proposition for clients.”
As well as designing the new website for lastminute.com founder and UK Digital Champion Baroness Martha Lane Fox CBE, Carswell Gould clients include Grant Thornton, Southampton Boat Show sponsor PSP and the Solent LEP.
Gareth said: “I’ve known the team here for years, so I know that they’re fun, that they’re original thinkers and that they’re up there with the very best, anywhere in the country. It’s exciting to be here and I’m proud to be part of the team.”
