Chartered surveyors Johnson Fellows is working with Harris + Hoole as it aims to become one of the leading premium coffee chains in the UK.
The Birmingham-based retail specialist has been appointed to advise the company on all its property management, building surveying, rating, rent reviews, and lease renewals work.
Harris + Hoole has stores in London, Hertfordshire, Surrey and East Sussex and is now looking to open more across the UK by the end of 2013 and into 2014.
Harris + Hoole was established by family members Nick, Andrew and Laura Tolley and aims to bring a whole new premium coffee experience to the high street.
The name originated from an extract from Samuel Pepys’ diary in 1664, where he mentioned meeting two acquaintances – Harris and Mr Hoole – in a coffee shop and hoped to make it a regular event.
Unlike its competitors every Harris + Hoole is bespoke and unique. Each store will retain as many of the building’s original features as possible and the menu will change from shop to shop depending on the baristas and, more importantly, what customers want. The coffees are all tried and tested in Harris + Hoole so the coffee is at its very best every single day. Every store will also offer a delicious breakfast and lunchtime offer all made by Harris + Hoole’s own chefs using the finest ingredients.
Nick Wint, partner at Johnson Fellows, said: “We are very pleased to be working with Harris + Hoole as the company embarks on an exciting acquisition programme to bring its artisan-style coffee shops to more areas of the UK. Our property advice and Harris + Hoole’s flair with coffee makes the perfect blend.”
Tom Springett, property director at Harris + Hoole, said: “I am delighted to be working with Nick and his team. They are one of the leading retail specialists in the UK and their expertise will help us grow the business and tell everyone about our fantastic coffee company. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the taste of our brilliant coffee and spend time in our amazing shops that are like no other.”
