St. Modwen, the landowner and developer of Coed Darcy, welcomed His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to its £1.2bn development in Neath, South Wales on the 5th of July. Accompanied by project partners, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community and Welsh Government, HRH The Prince of Wales enjoyed a tour of part of the 1,060 acre development, which is being transformed into a new sustainable community. The Royal visit was part of a week-long annual summer visit to Wales, where HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall have been celebrating the best of Welsh culture and heritage.
Steve Burke, Executive Director and Construction Director for St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome HRH The Prince of Wales back to Coed Darcy to learn first-hand about the major progress made with this regeneration project. Coed Darcy is a flagship development for us and we’re already five years into this long-term regeneration project. On completion, Coed Darcy will be home to more than 10,000 residents and will create over 4,000 new jobs for the region.”
