Young British talent will be on show at the UK’s first ever PopUp Market
and Music Concert being staged at Telford Enterprise Hub this month.
The young entrepreneurs’ festival and showcase – Enterprise Rocks! – will take place in Hadley Park on July 20th from 10am to 5pm and is the keynote annual event in the Young Britain campaign to help the under-30s start their own businesses.
Organisers will be welcoming hundreds of local visitors to see how young people have created profitable businesses in just six months since the Young Britain programme started.
Organisers said the inspirational young people had succeeded in turning their business dreams into a reality after joining the Young Britain programme.
Fay Easton, Start Up Britain local champion and co-founder of Young Britain, said: “This is an opportunity for our business neighbours in Telford and residents from across the county to visit the Hub and the PopUp Market to see how our young entrepreneurs are using their individual skills and talents to create successful businesses.
“Musicians, manufacturers, bakers, brewers, designers, caterers and artists will be displaying and selling their goods and we have visitors coming in from around Europe to ‘talent spot’ at our music and markets event.
“Enterprise Rocks! has been put together to show that with the right kind of help, mentoring and support, young people can quickly create productive and profitable businesses and transform their lives and earning potential.”
Fay said the last six months was just the start for those already involved and said she expected hundreds more to join the Young Britain programme after seeing the latest round of successes.
“There are so many young people out there with great skills and ideas and they just need help and inspiration and maybe some start up funding.
“This is where Young Britain comes in. Our campaign is all about showing young people that being self-employed is a low risk but high return pursuit and we can organise access to finance as well as a year long package of business support to get the entrepreneur on track to profit.”
Adam Corbally, a contestant on Lord Alan Sugar’s programme The Apprentice and the Radio Times ‘People’s Choice All time Favourite Apprentice’ will be presenting a Business Masterclass featuring the top ten most frequently asked start-up questions.
Adam is now a full time entrepreneur, professional business speaker and trainer and inspires young people with his own story of achievement
The Enterprise Rocks! extravaganza will feature live music from talented up and coming young musicians, sales stands, a local food park and all day Masterclass sessions for start ups.
The StartUp Loans desks will also be on site and the PopUp Market will be officially launched by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Telford, Councillor Malcolm and Christine Smith at 11am.
Fay added: “For visitors this is a free day full of entertainment and inspiration.
“There are Goody Bags for the first 100 visitors and #MadeByYoungBritain festival Wristbands and Enterprise Rocks! sweets for all.
“The music will be sensational, the food irresistible and the array of goods just breathtaking.”
