Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation has appointed specialist commercial property and planning consultants Rapleys to provide Corporate Real Estate Services to their tenanted estate.
As the world’s first Garden City, Letchworth was established more than 100 years ago to unite the best of town and country living. The Heritage Foundation is a charitable foundation set up to steward the town’s estate and invest income for the long-term benefit of the community.
Its key objectives are to preserve buildings and the environment, provide leisure facilities, enhance education and wellbeing, and support charities working to improve the quality of life for all.
The Heritage Foundation’s assets include a large commercial portfolio. The income received from these assets contributes to meeting the foundation’s charitable objectives.
John Lewis, the Heritage Foundation Chief Executive said, “we have appointed Rapleys for 3 years to further enhance the services we provide to our valued tenants. Rapleys will deliver all of our commercial property management and lease consultancy needs from July this year, providing our tenants with a wealth of specialist expertise.”
Tim Roxburgh, Projects Director at the Foundation said he is looking forward to developing a working partnership with Rapleys focusing on active asset management in order to maintain and improve income for the benefit of the town.
John Lowry, Head of Corporate Real Estate at Rapleys said, “We are delighted to work with the Heritage Foundation bringing commercial management services to more than 400 tenants and at the same time it’s a great privilege to contribute to the foundation’s charitable values and support its long-term work to maintain and enhance this unique Hertfordshire town.”
Jim Banks, Senior Partner at Rapleys said “Our Corporate Real Estate team has expanded considerably during the last 2 years and, in addition to John Lowry, Yalpesh Pajwani has also recently been appointed as a Partner. There is a great demand for active asset managers, not only to drive costs out of managing estates, but also adding value to assets. Our appointment by the Heritage Foundation is a tribute to the hard work and skill that our Corporate Real Estate team are able to bring to clients.”
