Around 1,200 visitors are expected to attend the UK’s top exhibition for NHS, private and volunteer ambulance service suppliers at the Ricoh Arena.
Ambulex is moving to the Coventry venue for the first time in its five-year history for the two-day show on Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday, July 11 in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall.
The exhibition will feature 70 suppliers of ambulances, ambulance support, accessible and community vehicles and related equipment as well as workshops in the Life Science Zone.
New for this year is Ambulex hosting the IAA (Independent Ambulance Association) inaugural lecture The Signpost for Patient Transport of the Future which will include a concept designed by students from The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the Royal College of Art in London, and a Heritage section featuring ambulances from the past.
Also new for this year will the Ambulex’s Life Science Zone which has a range of industry topical workshop lectures.
Ambulex will also feature a heritage vehicle, and an Air Ambulance pod as displayed by the Association of Air Ambulances.
Mike Phillips, of Ambulex, said exhibitors had the opportunity to showcase the latest developments in ambulance, rescue service and equipment technology.
“We are expecting up to 1,200 people over the two days to attend including senior managers from the public, private and volunteer ambulance fleet sectors, and community and accessible transport providers,” he said.
“There will be the opportunity to see everything from A&E vehicles to PTS and support equipment and in addition this year, we have included community and accessible transport which helps elderly and disabled people as well as students get to and from school or college.
“We are keen to attract staff from event locations or music festivals who by law have to provide emergency medical facilities to come along to Ambulex to see the kind of equipment which is available and meet alternative service suppliers.
“We are growing year-on-year which is one of the reasons we have moved to the Ricoh Arena since all our exhibitors can be located in one, large hall because this is one of the largest exhibitions of this type in the industry in the UK.”
Chris Owen, senior event manager at the Ricoh Arena, said delegates were travelling from all over the UK to attend the show.
He said: “The products and services which are promoted at Ambulex are vital to the private and public sector and this is a perfect opportunity to highlight the latest developments and technology which is available.
“Our exhibition facilities are ideal for growing shows which require purpose-built facilities in a central location with nearby accessible parking and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to Ambulex.”
