Giles Insurance Brokers Ltd is to set to create 117 new jobs over the next three years in a major expansion project at its Llantrisant offices which has been supported by the Welsh Government.
The expansion, which has been supported by £1.13m business finance, involves the centralisation of the group’s UK wide Micro and SME business sector in one commercial business Centre of Excellence. This will be based in their Magden Park offices in Llantrisant. The Welsh Government funding supports a total investment by Giles of £6m over a three year period. This will also support additional growth in their corporate, affinity partners and personal insurance divisions in Wales.
Announcing the news Economy Minister Edwina Hart said: ” Financial and Professional Services is a key sector of the economy with potential for high growth and I am delighted support from the Welsh Government helped secure this important project for Wales.
“The expansion by Giles Insurance will not only provide a boost for the local economy, creating a significant number of well paid jobs but also send out a strong message that Wales is the location of choice for the financial and professional services sector.”
Regional Managing Director Mike Jones said:” This expansion supports our vision of growing the business in Wales and providing the best service possible to all existing and future clients.
“Support from the Welsh Government is playing a key role in turning that vision into reality and was instrumental in securing the Centre of Excellence for Wales which will accelerate our growth plans.
“We are extremely pleased with our Welsh operation. There is a tremendous talent pool here and an extremely strong work ethic – which is why we have invested so heavily here.
“Giles’ loyal clients have helped give us stability in recent years which has helped us deliver on our commitment to continually invest in them and the people here in Wales.
The benefit to the local economy is very exciting. To employ an additional 100 plus people in this area is excellent news and I hope many other businesses will benefit as a result.”
