An international business adviser from Bournemouth has been appointed to a senior position at a global network of independently owned accounting firms.
Chris Appleton, senior partner at the South Coast office of accountancy and investment management group Smith & Williamson and chairman of the group’s audit business, is now on Nexia International’s board of directors for the region covering Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Nexia International, of which Smith & Williamson is a member, has 548 offices in 105 countries.
It is a top ten international accounting and tax organisation through which member firms deliver high-quality service around the globe to mid-sized and large corporate groups.
International work forms a significant part of both Chris’s client focus and the activity for the office in Kings Park Road, Southampton.
Two years ago Smith & Williamson was named Nexia International Firm of the Year for its “significant contribution” to the global network.
The work of six individuals from the firm was highlighted, including Chris’s for leading the development of a cross-border database initiative within the EMEA region.
