Southampton based company, Technical Alarm Systems has supplied and is maintaining an analogue addressable fire alarm system to the value of approximately £60k, in a prestigious office complex covering four floors that was refurbished in 2008 and now let to several different organsations in the Solent region.
The office complex, 1000 Lakeside North Harbour, will have a fire alarm system linked to a large network throughout the entire premises. The system is able to detect fire and notify occupants and persons in the surrounding area, as well notify the fire service.
Area sales manager at TAS, Barry Lee-Harper explains: “Each unit in the analogue addressable alarm system can give its exact location via text, notifying people of nearby fires and any faults with the system. This cuts down search times for fires, as they can be quickly located.”
Installation was completed for Highcross, property fund manager specialising in regional property investment and development opportunities, who runs and manages the site.
Ian Cox, facilities manager at Lakeside North Harbour says: “I have worked with Technical Alarm Systems since the refurbishment of 1000 Lakeside when the installation and refurbishment of the main building was completed. Having met TAS on site and seen their work, they’ve always given an excellent service from both their office based staff and engineers who always achieve the highest standards of installation and customer care. We always recommend TAS to new occupants for modifications and additions to the building system and insist that all final connections to our panel are completed by TAS, as we wouldn’t trust anyone else.”

TAS currently maintains the fire alarm systems on site, carrying out site visits at least four times a year.
