Leading personal injury law firm, NewLaw Solicitors, has strengthened its Bristol office with the appointment of a highly experienced solicitor to lead the Serious Injuries Team.
Jo Darlington is a catastrophic personal injury lawyer, with more than 21 years’ experience working in Bristol as both a partner and a department leader. She will be joining the fast growing law firm to lead the Serious Injuries Team in the new Bristol office, which opened at the beginning of the year. Her appointment is a key component in the on-going expansion of the Bristol office, which is run by company director and training principal, Jon Fitzpatrick.
Ms Darlington will be working with clients who have sustained brain and spinal cord injuries. She is highly regarded in this field and was recently appointed to the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) Brain Injury Assessors Panel which sets out to ensure the highest standard of representation for clients claiming compensation for brain injuries.
Ms Darlington is already recognised as a senior litigator by APIL and was rated by Legal 500 as an “Associate to watch” in 2012-13. She has also lectured postgraduate law students on the subject of “Professional Ethics and Client Care” for the last 17 years at the University of the West of England in Bristol.
Speaking about her appointment, Ms Darlington said: “I’m passionate about making a difference to the lives of people with serious brain or spinal cord injuries and NewLaw will be a fantastic platform for me to continue my work within this field. It’s one of the top ten personal injury firms in the UK and a company which has expanded rapidly within the last few years. I’m excited to be leading the Serious Injuries Team at the new Bristol office and really hope that I’ll be able to benefit the team with my experience from the past 21 years.”
Helen Molyneux, CEO of NewLaw, said: “Jo Darlington will be a real asset to our new and rapidly expanding Bristol office. She is a highly regarded specialist solicitor in the field of brain injury litigation and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. We look forward to welcoming her to the team.”
