DTZ has completed the sale of two units at Kenfig Industrial Estate, Bridgend.
Unit 3 (101,633 sq ft) has been sold to Swansea based manufacturer Michton Limited, one of Wales’ leading suppliers of top-of-the-range novelty confectionery. Unit 3A (96,648 sq ft) has been sold to Wernick Group, a national firm specialising in the manufacture of factory-built portable and modular buildings.
DTZ was instructed to market and dispose of the two detached industrial buildings, totalling 198,281 sq ft of manufacturing/warehouse space on a site of circa 18 acres.
Rob Ladd, Director in DTZ’s industrial agency Cardiff team, commented: “Orion was seeking to dispose of the surplus premises relatively quickly following the demise of the television manufacturing market in south Wales and subsequent restructuring of their wider worldwide business. We had a number of parties express interest in purchasing the properties and for both buildings to be bought by companies already based in Wales for expansion was especially satisfying.”
The premises are situated within Kenfig Industrial Estate, an established industrial location adjacent to the M4 motorway and in close proximity to Bridgend. Occupiers on the estate include Matilda’s Planet, Bunzl and RPC Tedeco.
