Two innovation road shows are being held next month to highlight the range of funding and specialist support available from the Welsh Government to help businesses develop and commercialise new products and processes.
The events take place at Waterton Technology Centre, Bridgend on June 11 and at OpTic Glyndwr, St Asaph Business Park, on June 12. Businesses can register electronically via http://business.wales.gov.uk/news-events
SMARTCymru funding is available to support all phases of research and development projects – from initial feasibility studies through to market exploitation
Aimed at established businesses looking to grow through innovation, the network of Welsh Government Innovation specialists can advise on increasing efficiency in manufacturing, protecting intellectual property, how to tap into expertise and facilities in universities and introduce design for new product development and manufacture.
There will be opportunities to speak to innovation specialists at these events who can advise on the most relevant support package for individual projects.
Economy Minister Edwina Hart has advised businesses to take advantage of these road shows.
Mrs Hart said: “Innovation is vital to make businesses competitive and companies that invest in new products and processes are investing in their future, however it can be a costly and lengthy process.
“The Welsh Government can provide significant funding towards these costs and support businesses through all the different phases of research and development.
“These road shows are being held to raise awareness of the help available and particularly aimed at businesses that have not previously engaged with our Innovation network.”
