Leicester-based knitwear company, BS Attwall, has acquired substantial new premises in Humberstone in a multi-million pound deal handled by regional law firm, Nelsons Solicitors.
Family run BS Attwall, is relocating from its previous premises in the same area of the city following continued business growth. The business has ambitious plans to continue its expansion by hiring 150 new staff in the next 12 months, tripling its existing workforce.
Nelsons Solicitors, which has an office in Leicester, has provided legal advice on the purchase of the six acre site on Forest Road.
The site includes a 40,000 sq ft industrial unit that BS Attwall intends to let to other businesses. For its own requirements, the company is planning to build a 130,000 sq ft purpose built unit to encompass both its office space and the knitwear manufacturing element.
Noni Attwal, managing director at BS Attwall, said: “We are driving our business forward and experiencing a continued period of growth. To take our business to the next level we needed a new location that offered space for our growing team and would house our manufacturing arm. Now we have found the right location, we can start recruiting.
“It was great to work with Nelsons who kept us informed throughout the process and led us carefully through the minefield of legal requirements required to buy the property.”
BS Attwall has been manufacturing fashion knitwear for 50 years and its clients include some of the best known high street retailers in the UK and Europe.
James Coningsby, head of commercial property and partner at Nelsons, said: “BS Attwall is a successful and long-established business in Leicester that had outgrown its previous premises. The new property gives the business much more space to accommodate business growth as well as the planned substantial increase in staff. I look forward to providing legal services to Noni again in the future on his next venture.”
