A £6million trade park development in Leamington has reached a major landmark.
Building supplier Travis Perkins is doubling its investment in the town with a 36,000 sq ft trade park at Queensway, which is expected to create 30 new jobs.
The main Travis Perkins depot on the 2.8 acre site is being designed and completed by Coventry firm Deeley Construction
The neighbouring buildings will contain the supplier’s additional outlets Tile Giant, City Plumbing, Benchmarx and Toolstation.
As part of the project, the Deeley Group is also supporting the Brunswick Healthy Living Centre (BHLC) and creating jobs for apprentices on the site.
Peter Deeley, chairman of Deeley Construction, is not only pleased with the progress being made on the construction but the all-round positive impact the project is having on the town.
He said: “This project has progressed really well – although the process actually began ten years ago!
“The land has been unused since engineering firm AL-KO Kober relocated to Southam so it is great to see it being put to good use, bringing new business and jobs to the area.
“As part of this project we have taken on two apprentices in trainee management positions too with plans for more to join. This is all good news for Leamington.”
John Reading from Travis Perkins, which has been supplying materials to traders for more than 200 years, said: “This is a major investment for Travis Perkins and we believe this add to our offer in Leamington and the surrounding areas.”
