Property moguls and public sector leaders from across the city and county will be meeting on Wednesday 22 May to make plans to promote Leicester and Leicestershire’s major development opportunities at the world’s biggest property exhibition, in 2014.
Around 30 business and political leaders, including Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) chair, Andrew Bacon; City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby and Leicestershire County Council leader, Nick Rushton will gather together to begin discussions on how to raise the profile of the city and the surrounding areas at the international MIPIM* property event, held every March in Cannes.
The meeting at Hotel Maiyango is being hosted by Thurmaston-based Raynsway Properties.
Tom Watkinson, Managing Director of Raynsway Properties comments, “MIPIM is the most important event within the property industry. It allows businesses like us to push Leicester and Leicestershire to the forefront on a world stage.
“We were part of a tremendously successful campaign in 2013 where we really felt like we got value for money by working collaboratively with the LLEP, local authorities and other businesses to promote our local property and development portfolios.
“With a networking event as big and influential as MIPIM, held in one of the most glamorous cities in the world, the opportunities are invaluable.”
LLEP Chair Andrew Bacon said, “We set a great precedent at this year’s MIPIM and we are keen to build on this to produce an even more substantial display of what Leicester and Leicestershire can offer to global investors.”
“The LLEP is fully committed to supporting our private sector partners to showcase the commercial aspects that could lead to significant inward investment. We are seeking early commitment and support from the businesses to help shape our 2014 campaign, which could ultimately contribute towards our goal of attracting £2billion of private sector investment and drive economic growth in the area.”
