A long-standing recruitment business in Ashby de la Zouch has been acquired by a national firm.
Baldwins accountants, which has ten offices across the Midlands, secured the sale of a + a recruitment to Templine Recruitment Limited, whose headquarters are in Birmingham.
Mark Selby, director of corporate finance at Baldwins accountants, acted for the owners of a + a recruitment – Angela Masters and Antoinette Poyser.
Mark said “a + a recruitment is a successful and long-established business in Ashby de la Zouch which provides temporary, contract and permanent staff to industrial and commercial clients in the East Midlands. Angela and Antoinette approached Baldwins last year to explore the various options open to them, as they both wished to retire from the company.
“After due consideration we were set the task of preparing the business for sale and finding a buyer with the same standards, values and ethos of a + a recruitment to ensure a smooth transition for their staff and clients, ultimately agreeing terms with Templine.
“Templine focus on recruiting temporary staff and has offices throughout the Midlands as well as in the North, South West, South East and Bedfordshire and last year achieved record turnover of £36.6 million.
“They are keen to drive their business forward by increasing their presence in the area and this is an ideal acquisition to allow them to do that.
“I would like to wish Angela and Antoinette a happy and healthy retirement – and they know they are leaving their business in good hands.”
Antoinette said Baldwins had played a key role in the successful sale of the business to Templine.
“From the beginning, Mark understood our remit and he kept myself and Angela updated every step of the way throughout the acquisition process,” she said.
“We are a relatively small company but we have built-up a good business based on the quality of our customer service and attention to detail. We are very confident our staff and the company will continue to be successful and grow under the Templine banner.”
David Kaplan and Davinder Jaspal from Nelsons Solicitors in Derby acted for Angela and Antoinette, and law firm DWF in Birmingham acted for Templine.
David Kaplan, partner at Derby-based Nelsons, said: “a+a recruitment is a successful company and is a very good fit for Templine. We really enjoyed working with the sellers and helping them achieve their desired goals. The sale will ensure the continuance of the company and will allow the smooth and orderly departure of a+a’s current owners.”
