Gavin Cummings, corporate finance partner at Browne Jacobson, was presented with the Insider East Midlands Dealmaker of the Year Award 2013.
The award is presented to the corporate finance professional that has demonstrated outstanding dealmaking success across the East Midlands.
In picking up the award Gavin beat a high calibre shortlist which included corporate finance specialists from LDC, KPMG, Gateley, Clearwater Corporate Finance and Dains.
Gavin, who is also head of Business Services at Browne Jacobson, has played a pivotal advisory role on some of the region’s standout deals including the Bowmark Capital backed secondary buy-out of CARE Fertility Group, Bestport Ventures’ investment in Oracle Care Limited, Japanese trader Itochu’s acquisition of Nottinghamshire-based Quantum Clothing Group, the LDC-backed MBO of Dale Power Solutions and the £31m takeover of Nottinghamshire windows and conservatory group Synseal in 2010 which was also awarded the ‘Deal of the Decade’ at the 2013 awards.
Widely regarded as one of the region’s high profile corporate finance lawyers, Gavin has extensive experience of buy-outs and international M & A, acting for both management and equity providers. He is also recognised as a leading individual in Legal 500 2012 and Chambers UK 2012.
The firm’s corporate finance team has also had another outstanding year having completed more than 100 transactions with a deal value exceeding £750m in 2012.
