The former Head of Litigation at Leicester City Council has joined national law firm Browne Jacobson in its Nottingham office.
Anthony Cross joins the firm’s highly regarded administrative and public law team where he will report to Partner Laura Hughes.
With over 25 years admitted experience Anthony has worked in both private practice and local government where he has held a number of senior positions specialising in areas including planning, highways, environmental, governance and standards issues. During his career Anthony has also appeared before a variety of courts and tribunals and has a particular specialism in Judicial Review claims.
Browne Jacobson’s administrative and public law team act for over 150 local authorities, including fire authorities and a range of health and public sector bodies and is highly rated by independent legal directories Chambers and Legal 500 for its ‘market-leading knowledge of public authorities’.
Over the last twelve months the team has secured a number of major clients including the Government Procurement Service, National Audit Office, Northern Ireland Ombudsman and Northern Ireland Audit Office. The team also act for Natural England, the Local Government Ombudsman, Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, the Marine Management Organisation and Wales Audit Office. More recently the team has been instructed by the Welsh Government on the creation of Natural Resources Wales, a new body that will best manage Wales’ natural resources.
