A Newport-based VAT consultancy is celebrating after being shortlisted in the national Taxation Awards with two of the Big Four firms.
Centurion VAT Specialists is among three companies through to the finals of the Taxation Awards VAT Team of the Year 2013, alongside KPMG and Deloitte.
This recognition comes as Centurion celebrates its 15th anniversary and is testament to the hard work of the team in increasing the company’s offering not just in Newport, Swansea and Cardiff but further afield in North Wales and the South West of England.
Centurion director, Liz Maher said: “Over the last few years we’ve had to work harder than ever to ensure success and our unique approach – of targeting specific sectors with training and forums – has reaped dividends. Our consistently high standard of client service and expert knowledge base has been key to Centurion securing a place in the finals against national VAT teams which are many times our size but with whom we go head to head on the quality of service we deliver to our clients.
“Last year we opened an office in Bristol which has given us a great foothold into the South West of England and in the past few months we have worked on a number of projects in North Wales which we hope will open more doors in the area.”
Established in 1998 the company is made up of five senior level VAT practitioners who have expertise in sectors including education, third sector, housing associations and manufacturing, and a marketing executive.
With offices in Bristol and Newport, the company aims to build on its existing reputation to become the largest independent VAT consultancy in Wales and the South West.
The winner will be announced at the Taxation Awards dinner which is being held at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London on Thursday 23rd May.
