A co-founder of premium burger business Muddy Boots is the keynote speaker at the third Women in Business Lunch at a top hotel in Stratford next month.
Miranda Ballard, who founded the company with her husband, Roland, will discuss the highs and lows of running your own business to around 60 guests at the Legacy Falcon Hotel in Chapel Street on Wednesday, May 8 between 11.30am-2pm.
The couple took the plunge to set-up Muddy Boots in Worcestershire in 2008 and two years later featured on BBC One’s High Street Dreams when they successfully pitched to Waitrose to sell their beef burgers in ten stores.
Their combination of providing ethical farming, natural ingredients and top quality beef has led to their products now being sold in 125 of the supermarket’s stores as well as at Ocado and Budgens.
Caroline Endersbee of PinkJelly Marketing, who organises the Women in Business Lunches, said she was expecting the event at the Legacy Falcon Hotel to be a sell-out once again.
“We launched the Women in Business Lunch through Stratford Business Forum and have been amazed at the response,” she said.
“We wanted to create a business-focused event with high-quality keynote speakers to motivate the audience and hopefully give at least one piece of advice which they could apply to their business.
“Miranda certainly fits that bill. Not only does she have a really interesting story to tell but with all the news surrounding the UK food industry at the moment, her views will be really topical.
“We have held each Women in Business Lunch at a different location in Stratford and hosting this event in the Legacy Falcon Hotel’s large function room means we are expecting our largest audience to date.”
Sian Pirone, national account and agency sales manager at the Legacy Falcon Hotel, said its Verona Suite was an ideal location for business events.
“The success of the Women in Business Lunches means that instead of being held every quarter, they are now taking place bi-monthly,” she said.
“We are looking forward to hosting the event because Miranda is certain to be an interesting and inspiring speaker who will have pertinent tips for business owners and employees.”
