Property agents CPBigwood have presented a cheque for £8,400 to St Mary’s Hospice in Birmingham.
The ceremony took place at Edgbaston Golf Club where the firm’s tenth annual golf day was held in the autumn. In celebration of the tenth year of the competition, CPBigwood topped up the total to £8,400 with a £5,000 donation.
For the second year running victory went to a banking team from NatWest headed by captain John Meehan.
It is tradition that the winners get to make the choice of which charity should benefit, and, also for the second time, St Mary’s was the nomination.
CPBigwood senior partner Rory Daly said: “It is always a great day out, with a terrific number of golf enthusiasts taking part.
“St Mary’s Hospice is a very deserving cause and it was a super achievement to be able to raise so much from the day which we at CPBigwood topped up.”
The hospice helps people with a terminal illness enjoy the best quality of life possible and ensure their loved ones are supported for as long as they need. Since its launch in 1979, it has cared for tens of thousands of people with conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and MS.
The 2013 CPBigwood Charity Golf Day will be held on Wednesday, October 2, at Edgbaston Golf Club.
