Newly-appointed partners/members of firms involved in professional services in the South have a chance to understand more about what it means to become a partner and the tax changes applying to their new self-employed status.
The South Coast office of accountancy and investment management firm Smith & Williamson is hosting a seminar on the topic, entitled Introduction to the Partnership.
The complimentary event takes place from 8.30am to 10.30am on Thursday, April 25, at Smith & Williamson’s office at Imperial House, 18-21 Kings Park Road, Southampton.
Richard Green, Managing Partner and one of the speakers, said: “It is our experience that newly-appointed partners/members of a limited liability partnership often require assistance in understanding what it means to become a partner/member and the tax changes applying to their new ‘self-employed’ status.
“Furthermore, as the world’s economies still have uncertain futures and changes to financial legislation and regulation continue unabated, personal financial planning and tax issues require more focus than ever.”
The seminar will provide a guide to new partners/members on the transition from employee to being self-employed, examining changes to income tax, national insurance and pension provision.
Other speakers are Paul Harris, Partner, Private Client Tax Services and Sharon Grubb, Financial Planning Manager, Financial Services.
