An expanding business has moved into new premises in Nottingham in a deal secured by property consultancy Innes England acting jointly FHP.
Better Languages is a translation company offering translation services between English and all major world languages and uses a network of over 400 translators in 38 countries.
The business has chosen to move from its existing offices in Bingham, where it has operated out of over the last eight years, to brand new offices at Poplars Court near the city centre. This follows a successful trading period for the company, which has been established in Nottingham for over thirty years.
In financial year 2008/9 the business grew 173% against a background of global recession.
Mike Hunter from Better Languages commented: “We have experienced strong growth over the last few years, with 20011/12 being our best ever financial year. The move to Poplars Court is a good investment and will allow for continued growth along with positioning us close to Nottingham city centre, and with good access to our national client base. In choosing to relocate to Poplars Court, developments of the new tramline, which will serve the site, improvements to the railway station, and the dualling of the A453 were all crucial.
“As an international business, we rely on presenting a positive professional image and the units at Poplars Court were ideal.
The disposal of the last remaining 1,400 sq ft unit follows a successful period of sales at Poplars Court. The office scheme, which was a speculatively built development by developer Sladen Estates and PMB Holdings, has proved to be a successful development with a range of occupiers from financial advisors to graphic designers.
Innes England and FHP acted on behalf of Sladen Estates in the freehold sale.
Scott Osborne, associate director at Innes England in Nottingham, said: “The Poplars Court office presented a good opportunity for the business to move to bigger and better quality premises.
“We continue to have a great deal of interest in the scheme as it provides a chance to purchase sub 2,000 sq ft office space on a freehold basis, which is rare in and around Nottingham city centre.”
Poplars Court comprises 16 high quality office units between 1,400 and 1,600 sq ft.
Matt Sladen of Sladen Estates added: “We are delighted that we have successfully sold Unit 10 to Better Languages in a smooth transaction that completed within four weeks. This latest sale now means that we have sold over 80% of the development with only four units remaining and we expect to be announcing news of a further deal soon. I would like to thank both Innes England and FHP for their continued assistance in securing purchasers”.
