The Bristol team at leading property consultants Jones Lang LaSalle has handed over more than £8,000 to Southmead and Frenchay Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), their chosen charity in 2012.
The team arranged a number of fundraising activities throughout the year including cake sales, quiz nights, staff BBQ’s, auctions and the legendary ‘Clients Quest’ when the team and clients got together to compete in games including football, golf and quoits.
NICU at North Bristol NHS Trust is a well-established neonatal service with specialist medical and neurological treatment providing intensive care, high dependency care, special care and transitional care for hundreds of babies each year.
Jane Maunder, associate director at Jones Lang LaSalle said: “Our youngest son was treated in Southmead & Frenchay NICU so for me it was an obvious choice. Being in the unit and seeing so many sick babies cared for by the dedicated staff was the most humbling experience. They do such amazing work and are an incredibly deserving charity. I feel proud that the Bristol office has raised so much money for them.”
Vicky Lorych, property administrator at Jones Lang LaSalle Bristol and 2012-13 chair of the charity committee, said: “With Jane’s links to the neonatal unit we were all keen to support and raise money for such a worthy cause. It has been such a great experience organising and running the charitable activities this year and to see how the money we have raised will positively impact so many young babies; being able to make a difference with our donation makes it all worthwhile.”
Trevor Reid from the Hospital’s Shine Together Charity said: “We are delighted to receive such tremendous support from all the staff at Jones Lang LaSalle in Bristol. The donations will help us provide more specialist equipment for the neo-natal babies and will also help us in our aim to create better facilities for families at a time when they need our support most. We are very grateful for the generous donation from the Jones Lang LaSalle team.”
Each year Jones Lang LaSalle raises money for a chosen charity both regionally and nationally. In Bristol, the team will continue their efforts to support Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal in 2013 which fundraises to support sick children and babies at Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Michael’s Hospital, Bristol.
