Leamington Spa based Wright Hassall has added another string to its bow with the launch of a new business, QDR Solutions, which will offer High Court enforcement services alongside its debt recovery and other legal services.
QDR Solutions is led by Alan Smith, an Authorised High Court Enforcement Officer, with over 26 years’ enforcement experience working in the public and the private sector.
Alan was formerly the Head of High Court Services at Marston Group’s and he will be joined by operations manager Alex Pready and Carole Tacagni.
High Court enforcement is the process by which an authorised officer is granted powers, by the Ministry of Justice, to execute High Court judgments.
QDR Solutions will work alongside Wright Hassall’s debt recovery service, Quantum, which was launched in 2011 and has grown substantially with more than 40 debt collectors, a dedicated compliance manager and several senior managers.
No other law firm offers such a comprehensive service from pre-legal collections to enforcement and Wright Hassall believes this new venture will fill a key opening in the market.
Alan said: “In the current economic climate and with the consolidation in the High Court enforcement market, QDR Solutions offers a highly credible alternative. As our approach is tailored to the needs of each client, we can select the most efficient strategy to maximise the opportunity for successful recovery.
“This is an exciting time to be joining Wright Hassall. Their debt recovery team is top-ranked and has the people and expertise to be able to offer clients a full range of professional recoveries service from pre-legal and litigation through to enforcement.
Sarah Perry is head of dispute resolution at Wright Hassall. She said: “It’s not just about getting the judgment for clients which law firms traditionally do. It is also about recovering the cash for clients.
“With our debt collection agency we can use collection strategies to recover outstanding monies, our lawyers can then litigate if necessary to secure judgment and Alan and his team will be able to handle enforcement.
“We can offer clients the best of all worlds, a complete professional recoveries package which is cost-effective, compliant and professionally delivered.”
Wright Hassall is also one of a growing number of law firms to have joined the ABS register, which allows companies to provide legal services alongside some form of non-lawyer involvement, either at management level or as an owner or investor.
