A company which supplies display equipment to retailers and forecourt operators around the UK and a replacement window and door specialist have moved to Burntwood Business Park, Burntwood, Staffordshire, as interest in the site continues to grow.
The lettings to Planova UK Ltd and Safestyle UK, together with a further 7,059 sq ft under offer to potential tenants, would leave Zone 2 of the business park fully let. Owners London and Cambridge Properties Limited (LCP) are to refurbish two units in neighbouring Zone 3 at a cost of approximately £500,000 to provide space from 2,889 sq ft to 18,518 sq ft to meet demand.
Planova UK relocated its main warehouse and offices from Minworth to move to a 10,885 sq ft unit at Burntwood. A number of smaller warehouses are now consolidated in a location that offers easier access to the motorway links to service its clients nationwide.
The company, which has been in the UK since 2008 and in mainland Europe since 1964, manufactures and supplies retail display systems and furniture to food retailers and petrol forecourts for both interior and exterior use. It employs ten people at Burntwood and with sub contractors for installation services.
Preben Paulsen, Managing Director of Planova UK, said: “We were looking to consolidate our warehousing and grow our business. LCP and Burntwood have given us the opportunity to achieve this.
“We have national contracts with a variety of retailers and leading branded forecourts. Almost every forecourt in the country has some of our equipment installed. We have standard ‘mass’ manufactured equipment and increasingly a ‘value for money’ bespoke range designed, prototyped and manufactured to customer requirements.”
Safestyle UK has opened a sales hub in a 5,849 sq ft unit at Burntwood. It is the largest independent replacement PVCu window and door specialist in the UK and only targets the domestic market.
The company, which has been established since1992, says the move could create some job opportunities in the area.
Burntwood Business Park is situated between Cannock and Lichfield on the A5190, close to Chasewater Country Park. Junction T6 of the M6 Toll and the A5 trunk road are both approximately one and a half miles away. Properties from 1,587 sq ft to 63,597 sq ft are available to rent.
Owner LCP is one of the UK’s largest private owners of industrial, retail and office property to let. Its total commercial property portfolio runs to more than 14 million sq ft which is held for long term investment purposes.
