Property consultants Alder King have secured the sale of the former Dobwalls Adventure Park near Liskeard. The visitor attraction, which closed in 2006, now has a bright future under plans being devised by new owners Charteroak Estates.
The site, which extends to 22 acres (8.9 hectares), includes a variety of buildings and amenities set within rolling countryside and achieved in excess of the guide price of £400,000.
Charteroak is a West Country-based developer of luxury log cabins and timber eco-lodges in prime sites across South Devon, Dorset and Cornwall. It plans to bring out the best features of the site, from its panoramic views, woodland walks and open spaces, to create a high quality holiday development.
Oliver Workman of Alder King in Truro which handled the sale on behalf of LPA receivers, says: “This is a unique property with a wide variety of buildings and land and attracted strong levels of demand, defying the challenging market conditions.
“Charteroak has an excellent track record in delivering high quality, environmentally sustainable holiday developments. It is very pleasing that this site will continue to play its part in Cornwall’s tourism sector,” he says.
