Wollen Michelmore’s newest recruit is yet another South Devon-based rising star.
Rebecca Moloney has joined the firm’s family law department, where she hopes to specialise in matrimonial finance. She is the third new recruit to join the firm this year.
The leading South Devon law firm has established a reputation for recruiting the brightest local young lawyers and offering them the opportunities and career progression they desire without the need to go to London to develop their careers.
Rebecca Moloney was born in Newton Abbot and educated at Stover School. She did her law degree at the University of the West of England in Bristol and her Legal Practice course at Exeter University.
Rebecca’s first job was as a paralegal with Bond Pearce LLP in Exeter. She quickly moved on to a trainee solicitor role at Ford Simey LLP, and then secured her first role after qualification in the firm’s family law department at Exmouth. Her previous job before joining Wollen Michelmore was in the family department at Follett Stock in both the Truro and Exeter offices of the firm.
“I was attracted to Wollen Michelmore as a firm because of its excellent reputation for giving a first rate service to the South Devon community,” said Rebecca. “I am very committed to the area and really impressed with the firm’s focus towards it. I am delighted to have joined such a respected firm and hope to carry on providing the quality legal advice and client care for which they are known.”
Wollen Michelmore managing partner Chris Hart said: “Our policy of recruiting locally has always benefitted us as firm and our clients. Our young lawyers tend to stay longer and many of the ones we spotted early on in their careers have made partner with us. They also have a feel for and loyalty to South Devon which resonates with our clients. Rebecca is a very welcome addition to our team.”
Rebecca Procter, head of Wollen Michelmore’s family law department, said: “Rebecca Moloney will be based at our Newton Abbot office, where she will work alongside Cate Jewell, who specialises in all aspects of children work. We are very excited to have Rebecca on board. She will help build up the Family Department Finance Team, which specialises in all financial aspects following the breakdown of a relationship, across the firm’s four offices. Her experience in this area of work, will be invaluable for clients seeking a resolution to financial matters at a difficult time in their lives.”
