CBRE completes Christchurch Civic Offices sale

On behalf of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, CBRE Southampton has completed the freehold sale of the Christchurch Civic Offices for £1.91m to Questmap Ltd.

The Civic Offices on Bridge Street were closed to the public and staff in December 2021 as part of the Council’s transformation programme.

The circa 29,600 sq ft, three-storey building sits on a 1.66-acre site near the town centre and includes the Leisure Centre Car Park West.

Alex Davies, Director at CBRE Southampton, said: “This waterfront site is an exciting opportunity in the heart of Christchurch. As such, the competitive bidding process attracted several reputable bidders, highlighting the site’s attractive prospects.

“CBRE has worked with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council for a number of years, and we are pleased to deliver this strategic transaction supporting the Council’s plans for the long-term benefit to the region.”

Peter Harding, Managing Director of Questmap, said: “Questmap are pleased to have completed the purchase of the Christchurch Civic Office building. It has been a pleasure dealing with sales agents CBRE, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and the professional teams involved on behalf of the Vendor and Purchaser. Questmap very much looks forward to bringing a regenerated building back into use and securing its long-term future.”

The Bridge Street Car Park, including the public toilets, and the public right-of-way to the west of the centre, were not included in the sale.

CBRE Southampton is currently marketing Poole Civic Centre for sale, on behalf of BCP Council.

The site, which has been unoccupied since 2022, includes the former Poole Civic Centre, the multi-storey car park and the civic centre annex located on a combined area of circa 4.42 acres. The properties can be bought together or individually.
